Hey guys! Today's post is an interview with Nova Fortin from Intention Charms, a jewelry shop on Etsy which focuses on meditative and chakra-balancing pieces made with raw crystals. We're going to see a little bit of how Nova come into making these pieces and what her shop really is all about. Let's get into it! Welcome to Nova! Thank you so much for doing an interview for my blog today. I'd like to know a little bit about how you got to where you are now and why you made your business. I've always had an interest in metaphysics, spirituality, divine intervention, 'the universe' etc.. but for unknown reasons, it's only just recently that I've began owning my beliefs and opening my mind to what's out there. It's even more recently that I've decided to publicly share my spirituality (and my jewelry) with other people! What inspired you to work with healing crystals and gemstones? I liked creating with them! The colors, the durability, the endless possibilities! Did i say the colors? :) Since you have such an emphasis on spiritualism and natural healing, do you believe in magic? Sort of. I believe in the power of self-love, self-care and self-discovery. I believe in being a good person and loving all beings equally. I believe that we all have magnificent capabilities within us and can create our reality to whatever we want it to be. So that's kinda magical. :) What gems do you like to use the most in your work? I like to work with the common chakra stones; So, Amethyst, Crystal Quartz, Rose Quartz, Black Onyx and Carnelian are definitely at the top of my list, they're quite known and recognized as healing crystals and many people know to look for them when searching for healing crystal jewelry. I also like Green and Red Aventurine, Lapis Lazuli, Moonstone, and Jasper quite a bit! What are your favorite crystals? I love Lapis Lazuli, Green Aventurine, Rose Quartz, Carnelian, Black Onyx, Amethyst, Moonstone, Citrine, aquamarine. I really couldn't possibly limit myself to just one. It's very difficult! Why do you choose to work with raw crystals instead of polished? I started working with the raw form more than the factory refined crystals simply because I believe they are more authentic in that state. Mind you, they are not entirely raw as they have been tumbled and polished, but more natural than the typical "beads" people use. There is something to be said about natural beauty and I like to bring that out. What are your favorite pieces in your shop? Currently, the top favorites of my shop right now are: Do you recommend any resources for those interested in learning more about crystals? I like Crystal Vaults! She has a fantastic encyclopedia system that is really great for looking up specific crystals! And Wikipedia has some good info too. I want to give another HUGE thank you to Nova for doing this interview. She is such a genuinely kind woman and was such a joy communicating with. If you're interested in Nova's shop, Intention Charms, check it out right here. She has pieces for birthdays, meditation, and some for just plain beauty. Like this gigantic Lapiz Lazuli necklace. It's like your Third Eye getting five energy shots! Just wow! Plus, if you use MAGIC10 at checkout, you'll receive 10% of your purchase.
