If you've visited my blog before, you know I talk about witchcraft, spirituality, and magical topics. You also know that I own a tarot reading shop on Etsy. Been up since November and it's starting to take off bit by bit. Thanks to Etsy Academy. When I first started my store last year, I had no idea what I was doing. My daughter was four months old, I was doing max credit hours for my degree, and we didn't have enough money. Sewing costumes and carrying wigs up and down stairs was hard enough while I was pregnant, let alone baby wearing. My husband had been out of a job for two years; it's hard finding a job when you're in college and not qualified enough in a small town. I'd taken other jobs, like modeling and Mickey D's, but no one would hire me with my shit-show of a schedule. I'd been reading Tarot for free on my Tumblr for a year or so by that point. I'd helped quite a few people and grown in my intuitive abilities. A few spiritual epiphanies had passed. I felt confident in my abilities. So I decided to start selling tarot readings to make money. Problem: I had to market myself AND my product. Not just to product. All the tutorials I found for "how to succeed at Etsy" were for handmade stores. Understandable, that's the main product on Etsy. But what I was selling technically wasn't handmade. Programs like Biddy Tarot only helped so much; a fantastic free podcast and website but I didn't (and still don't) have over a grand to shell out every month for a program and community. It's definitely a goal though. But finding Jenni on Facebook, Fuzzy and Birch, and then Etsy Academy helped tremendously. Once the the concept of SEO hit (which it did in a BIG way with her), social marketing strategies fermented, and even blog building and concept ideas took shape, I started having sales. I started helping more people with their spiritual paths and lives. I started having enough gas to put in the car to get us to the laundry mat. Hell, I had money for the laundry mat! I've even been able to start saving money for an apartment after graduation because of how my shop has grown. Yes, it's not a big increase. I'm not making five figures in a few months like others. But for a woman who has needed food assistance, is an independent-student in terms of loans, and hasn't been able to have a job outside of workstudy (which pays at most $200 a month) this has been a life-saver for me. I finally feel in control of my finances. I feel like I finally have my life, the future I want for my tiny but growing family, is in my hands. And I can help other people by doing what I love. I want to help others like me, those who have a gift or talent, to make money doing what they love. I want you to know it's possible to get back on your feet and start building the life you want. So if you have an Etsy shop, the best investment you can make is using Etsy Academy. What is etsy academy? This is an intensive boot camp course for anyone who wants to take apart their Etsy shop with a fine tooth comb and make it amazing. You learn how to have effective SEO for your shop, website, blog, and all social media. You learn how to find your audience where they're already hanging out and start catering to them the right way. You learn how to build an amazing email list and give quality content to your subscribers. You learn how to make money doing what you love. You learn how to be your own boss and spend your time efficiently and effectively. So if you want a raised conversion rate for your shop, a huge boost in monthly sales, and the best tips and tricks in the business from the best of the business, sign up for this course. What results have you seen?First, my conversion rate went from .00012% to 2.1% in a month. The ideal is 2%, because then every 100 people or so who view your shop on Etsy buy something. Here's a look at my metrics so you can see the change: I joined Etsy Academy in January and immediately applied SEO tricks and tips, new images, adding multiple listings, and trying to incorporate being a tarot shop in a handmade world. After the 30 days it takes for SEO to kick in officially, you can see the spike in sales. Wait a minute, but your views are going down! Isn't that bad? Not necessarily; it's taking less views to result in reading orders now. Only the people who are truly interested in buying a reading are showing up now, which is fantastic. All that time I spent doing view-for-view and fav-for-fav in teams was for nothing (that's the main reason the metrics for November and December 2016 are crap). It's exposure to people who aren't actually interested. Now, I have a shop full of readings I know people will benefit from and feedback from those I've helped, which makes me a better reader. I have a slowly growing email list, social media following, and a wonderful blog where I can keep teaching and helping others like yourself! I love it! Thanks to the Academy. I don't regret it at all. The possibility of being able to stay home with my daughter after college is done and still have a steady income is a dream that's now a definite possibility.
So sign up today, join the community, and I'll see you there!
